Most commonly in Asian prisons, when being punished, prisoners are sent to labor camps. In many labor camps inmates are forced to produce consumer goods to be shipped to other countries. In other cases they are forced to work in fields, mine shafts, or logging in forests. Often times though, people were forced to preform labor as punishment instead of jail time.
